    Acceptable quality criteria are established for the product, service or process to be inspected.

    Receipt and sampling

    The batch or sample to be inspected is received and a representative sample is selected according to the sampling plan.

    Visual inspection

    External appearance, dimensions and physical characteristics of the product or service are verified.

    Functional testing

    Specific performance or functionality tests defined in the quality criteria are carried out.

  5. 5

    Results evaluation

    The obtained results are compared against the defined acceptance criteria.

  6. 6

    Decision: Approved or Rejected

    If criteria are met: the batch is approved and documented. If not: the corrective action process is initiated.

  7. 7

    Documentation and close

    Inspection results are recorded, the report is filed and the quality register is updated.
